Recycling Linens at The Inn

Did you know The Fearrington House Inn donates gently-used bed linens, towels and bed slippers?

On average, The Fearrington House Inn donates approximately one hundred bags of materials per year to charitable organizations. These materials have created over 1,000 bandages and over 500 dresses to date, in addition to many other projects.

Fearrington started donating gently-used linens and other materials because many organizations needed fabric, but couldn’t afford to purchase any themselves due to cost limitations. These re-purposed linens are used both locally and internationally. Fearrington is happy to donate not only linens but also slippers, towels, etc. Each donation results in an expansion of the re-use and functionality of these materials. Gently-used towels and slippers go to Interact, worn towels go to animal shelters in North Carolina, linens are re-purposed for quilt backs and pieces, dresses and canvas bags, and linen strips are used for rolled bandages.

Fearrington is humbled to be assist these organizations in their efforts by providing materials, and to further reduce waste throughout the Village!
