To celebrate a New Year, Dovecote Style is starting a new blog series: Make It Your Own Monday!
We offer fabulous multi-generational shopping at Dovecote. No matter what your age, it is all about the styling! Every month we will select a basic ensemble, a key accessory of the season, or focus on special event dressing – and each week of that month, one of our four stylists will show you how to make it work for your age and style! Stop by our blog every Monday to see how to make it your own!
Item of the Month: P. Taylor Shirts
The P. Taylor brand based in New York, provides classic button up shirts that provide style, function and fit in equal measure. Each handmade shirt is a blend of cotton and polyester or cotton and nylon for superb wearability. The fabrics feel heavenly, travel perfectly and wash easily (machine-washable in cold water, hang to dry). With a rainbow of colors and styles to choose from, these shirts fit all body types.
Do not miss the opportunity to meet Priscilla Taylor herself at Dovecote Style’s P. Taylor Trunk Show on Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th. This will be your chance to see her entire line and pre-order for late Spring delivery.
A monochromatic look with lots of texture is fabulous for a gal on the go; it’s easy but also pulled together and allows for the most fun accessories. We’ve taken the best-selling Classic shirt in a charcoal gray and paired with our favorite seasonal pant from Equestrian Designs, the Equi-Tight. We love the slimming patch on the inside of the knee in contrasting black which corresponds with the black and gray-taupe color blocking of the Cadence cross-body bag from Joanna Maxham. Cinch in the waist with a fur and knit vest courtesy of Linda Richards and top the outfit with a silky and colorful scarf from Suzi Roher–it really pops and so will you as you zip about your day.
Après-work cocktail chic personified. We love this modern take on the suit from Anarkh, using paper thin washable leather detailing and waxed cotton to add sheen. Our lipstick pink San Francisco shirt from P. Taylor looks amazing tucked in or left long for a more casual day-off look. The high quality and elegant hand of this fabric allows pockets to blend seamlessly into the drape of the fabric – another great feature emphasizing the versatility of this shirt. To accessorize, we’ve added a dainty necklace from Robin Haley and wide woven belt from Suzi Roher. To complete the ensemble, we have added the chic “Castaway” bag from Joanna Maxham in pebbled black leather that is roomy enough to house all of your office-to-drinks accessories!
