We have quite the jet-set clientele at Dovecote. We are asked on a daily basis “what’s the best outfit for traveling?” and we have the answer for you!
Well, we have a couple answers. Because who doesn’t love options?
If you are solely traveling (and, thus, crashing onto your bed as soon as you arrive at your destination), we recommend a simple cotton t-shirt from Wilt and ponte leggings from Magaschoni. These are comfortable, breathable, and can double as pajamas if you just can’t muster the effort to change. Hey, it happens to all of us. Layer this casual basic ensemble with a cashmere cocoon from Magaschoni, a soft scarf, and maybe a hat. We recommend a classic driving moc to finish the look. It looks pulled together while still feeling like a slipper.
For the days when you hit the ground running, an outfit from Iris Setlakwe will do just the trick. Her pieces are relaxed and travel-friendly while also being easy to dress up as needed. We love to start with an all black base of stretchy top and pants, layer a Kinross cashmere cardigan or light jacket, and finish with a colorful scarf and streamlined Katharine Page ballet flats to sightsee, or jewels and a heel for dinner. Remember to pack a sparkly clutch in your carry-on so you can accessorize perfectly!
No matter where your voyages take you, you’ll always travel in style. Swing by the shop to speak with our style team; we’re always happy to help (and look at all your beautiful pictures when you get back)!!

At McIntyre's Books
A little sawdust with your pasta? Unless you are grating your Parm yourself from a block of cheese actually made in Parma, Italy, this may be your indistinct pleasure. Kobe beef, EVOO, truffles, balsamic vinegar, sushi, all manner of cheeses, wines, scotch: these are commonplace imposters and fakes, running the gamut from ethically gray to illegal and dangerous. Food counterfeiting is big business, so grab this book to keep it real.

Fearrington Weddings, Real Weddings
Megan and Doug tied the knot on November 28, 2015 These newlyweds danced the night away in The Fearrington Barn!
How did you and your partner meet?
In 2008, Doug's younger sister Anna was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent treatment at UNC Cancer Hospital. She did well and has been in remission ever since, but still attends regular follow ups. Fast forward to 2012, I had started working as a physician assistant at the UNC Cancer Hospital and was introduced to Anna and my future... Full Post >
From the moment you drape a Suzi Roher scarf around your neck, you are hooked! The luxurious soft fabric settles effortlessly on the body, making them nearly weightless and incredibly comfortable to wear.
Every piece in her collection is a masterpiece with its own story, offering a captivating collage of images that speaks differently to every individual. Original art and photography dissolves into beautifully layered colors when worn. Folded and draped around your neck, only you know the... Full Post >
At The Goat
With fall fast approaching and the turning of the leaves on our horizon, it's time to enjoy a bit crisper weather with some delicious wines. At The Goat, we have a wide variety of wines to sip while the fall breeze blows by. Here are some of my favorites:
Montinore, Borealis, Willamette Valley, Oregon ($18)
This aromatic blend of Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Muller-Thurgua is a beautiful, easy-to-drink white during this time of year. Full bodied with a touch of... Full Post >
At Fearrington House Restaurant, In Our Gardens
Fall is just around the corner and our chefs are busy preparing the Fearrington gardens for a plentiful harvest. We chatted with Junior Sous Chef Zac to find out what's being planted this season!
What is the vegetable you’re most excited about growing this fall?
We are really looking forward to growing some uncommon fall and winter squashes. People are very familiar with butternut and acorn squash, and they may have even heard of spaghetti and delicata squash, but there are so many more... Full Post >
