The Planning of a New Neighborhood

For Fitch Creations, Inc., creating a new neighborhood has never been simply a matter of knocking down trees. Years of thought and careful planning take place before any land is disturbed or tree removed. The main consideration is to preserve the beauty and integrity of the land while at the same time, establishing a place where people can live in and enjoy their natural surroundings.

Would it be easier to clear cut the trees and level the land? Sure, but as anyone who lives or visits Fearrington Village can see and feel for themselves, that has never been a consideration. Burke Place (coming soon) is a cul-de-sac with private wooded custom home sites.  The new road is situated to provide the best possible access and views to all who choose to build homes there. The end result will be 12 gorgeous homes sites that will create another wonderful Fearrington neighborhood. Stay tuned!

A Clean Sweep

Fearrington's longtime farmer and "Beltie-whisperer" Bob Strowd takes Fearrington's Belted Galloway Cows on a trip every year. This yearly adventure takes a select few of Fearrington's Belties away from the serene pastures surrounding the Village Center and into the North Carolina State Fair. Every year the fair grows larger, the crowds increase and the cattle competition intensifies. We are proud to announce that Fearrington's Belties made a clean sweep of the fair's awards this year --... Full Post >

Erin & Jason

Erin and Jason tied the knot on March 16, 2014. These newlyweds said their "I dos" at the Garden Terrace, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn. How did you and your partner meet? Jason and I met in 2008 while we were both working at an international school near Dusseldorf, Germany. I was teaching second grade, and Jason was part of the school’s administrative team. I was actually introduced to him the day after I arrived in Germany. A complete nervous wreck from the plane... Full Post >

Transformation Tuesday

A little-known fact about Dovecote to start your day, we have a men's department. It's not vast (at least not yet!), but it's here and filled with wonderful treasures. For our transformation today, we've taken a super casual jeans and tee shirt look and tweaked it just enough. We didn't want to be too fancy! Instead of a tee shirt, we have a gorgeous Kinross cashmere sweater, a must for every gent. To accompany that, we've dressed our guy in a Harris tweed jacket, a true classic. Harris... Full Post >
