Q&A with JoAnn Doxakis

We were excited to catch up with JoAnn Doxakis, for ZoWee, before her trunk show at Dovecote on Friday, August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd. Here is what she shared with us about her exquisite collection!

What has been your inspiration this season?
Texture. The organic feel of outdoors inspires me, so many colors and textures for all seasons. The culture of vacation spots I’ve visited is truly an inspiration, and places I haven’t yet visited, only in photos is still inspiring to me. One of my favorites is the beach!

How has your collection evolved this season from last?
We are always evolving; always designing, always in search of uniqueness, the process never stops. I like to design pieces that are unique and can be layered so your customer can add to their collection. Layer, layer, layer . . . You can never wear or have too much jewelry, right?

What is your long-term vision for the brand?
Design and create more jewelry, of course! Most importantly, to create beautiful, quality, unique pieces someone can continue to wear and add on to their collection.

What does your collection add to an already fashionable wardrobe?
My personal opinion is that an outfit isn’t complete without jewelry, and, I’ll admit, a great pair of shoes!

If you could only pack one piece from your entire collection, what would you choose and why?
Probably one of the convertible pieces because it can be worn as a long necklace, wrapped once or twice (depending on the piece) or a wrap bracelet. All that in one piece of jewelry.

We hope to see you this weekend!

Daniella Lehavi Boots

Our love for fall is fairly evident here at Dovecote. Cashmere sweaters, streamlined leggings, cozy scarves, lots of layers . . . fall fashion is definitely our favorite. Pairing these pieces with boots is only natural! Ankle boots with a knit dress and opaque tights is a look we love. A knee-high boot with skinny pants and an oversized sweater? Autumnal perfection! Daniella Lehavi's boots come to us from Israel. They are handmade with the highest quality leather. We've loved her... Full Post >

Sara & Scott

Sara and Scott tied the knot on April 25, 2015. These newlyweds said their "I dos" at the Garden Terrace, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn. Tell us about the engagement? Our engagement took us on a journey in logistics, which in turn required two attempts for Scott to get to “pop the question.” On the first attempt, Scott had the plan and pieces all in place. However, the universe had its own agenda in mind that evening. Essentially, all Scott needed was for their... Full Post >

How I Style It

Here at Dovecote, we love to build a look. It's like a puzzle - challenging, but fun and so satisfying once we've completed it. Each member of our style team builds different looks, dependent on the client and the stylist's own personal outlook on fashion. Featured here is a look from our newest Dovecote Stylist Cassie. She's taken a simple washable silk top from Go Silk and paired it with the Milo pant from Equestrian Designs in Cornbread. We love the navy and yellow together, so chic!... Full Post >

Q&A with Suzi Roher

We were excited to catch up with Suzi Roher, designer for Suzi Roher, before her trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th. Here is what she shared with us about her exquisite collection! What three words best describe your line? Fashionable, gorgeous, artsy, quality. Oops, that's four, but I could not leave out quality! What has been your inspiration this season? The 'waist' has been my inspiration this season. Silhouettes have bigger shoulders and... Full Post >
