Make It Your Own Monday

Welcome back to Dovecote Style’s blog series: Make It Your Own Monday!

Item of the Month: Magaschoni Cashmere Mesh Cardigan

It’s no secret we love our Magaschoni cashmere, but our love deepened when we ordered from the Spring 2015 collection–we have gorgeous silk shells, feather light cashmere sweaters and this stunning mesh cardigan. Made from 100% cashmere, this cardigan is reminiscent of fishnet and perfectly thin for layering over and under for the end of winter (it IS coming) and those early Spring days. This is an essential.

For 60-somethings
Stylist: Sharon

Perfect for a spring afternoon strolling the gardens, we’ve put this pretty look together using a whimsical linen top from Shosh New York and an indigo Magaschoni mesh cardigan. The lightweight cashmere is ideal for this transitional weather. A pop of color in a pant is a great way to embrace brightness without the total commitment of a top or dress; it’s easier to break up or even downplay color when it’s placed away from the face. A fantastic sun hat makes an appropriate topper to a garden ensemble and some pretty beaded pieces from Ann Lightfoot at the neck and wrist accessorize without distraction.

We met while we were both working at Walgreen's. A group of people from stores around the area were selected to help remodel stores. For one remodel we stayed at a hotel. While we were there David would always come out at night to keep me company while I would walk my dog. After we started dating,... Full Post >

Cutest Baby Shower Cake EVER!

Our very talented pastry chefs at the Fearrington House obviously had a great time welcoming Baby Jones into the world.  They even named the animals – Milton the Monkey, Jerry the Giraffe, Roger the Lion and Douglas the Zebra (what else would you call a zebra?!).  Too much fun! - Gilda Full Post >

5 Quick Tips to Prep Your Garden

1. Clean and sharpen all your garden tools. Check that battery and gas powered items are ready to go, and that ample amounts of potting soil, fertilizers, etc have been purchased and set aside. 2. If you are growing annuals or vegetables from seed, mid-March is the time to begin sowing these indoors for planting out after last frost. 3. On days when you just can't stay inside, begin by raking and cleaning garden beds. Where bulb foliage is emerging, top-dress with a bit of slow-release... Full Post >
