How I Style It

Here at Dovecote, we love to build a look. It’s like a puzzle – challenging, but fun and so satisfying once we’ve completed it. Each member of our style team builds different looks, dependent on the client and the stylist’s own personal outlook on fashion.

Featured here is a look from our newest Dovecote Stylist Cassie. She’s taken a simple washable silk top from Go Silk and paired it with the Milo pant from Equestrian Designs in Cornbread. We love the navy and yellow together, so chic! Tying the look together is a fantastic wooden necklace. We think pairing the whole ensemble with a pretty silk kimono is fabulous.

There’s something effortlessly cool and funky about this outfit, which perfectly defines Cassie’s personal style. Swing by Dovecote Style to see her anytime  Thursday through Monday for a fresh new take on style.

Poolside Style

Summer is winding down and it's your last chance to swim in style. For the ultimate in poolside (or beachside) chic, look no further than Dovecote Style and our beautiful pareos from Matta. Made in India from 100% percent cotton and contained in a cute matching bag, these bright wraps are perfect to wrap around your suit before, during and after pool times. Paired with a wrinkled linen tunic from CP Shades and a beachy straw basket, you’ll always be perfectly styled to beat the heat! Full Post >

Q&A with Suzi Roher

We were excited to catch up with Suzi Roher, designer for Suzi Roher, before her trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, August 8th and Sunday, August 9th. Here is what she shared with us about her exquisite collection! What three words best describe your line? Fashionable, gorgeous, artsy, quality. Oops, that's four, but I could not leave out quality! What has been your inspiration this season? The 'waist' has been my inspiration this season. Silhouettes have bigger shoulders and... Full Post >

Suzi Roher Accessories

It's plain to see we love to accessorize at Dovecote Style. Accessories can transform an outfit from simple to super chic. A single item can take an outfit from run of the mill to "I-need-that-now." What accessories are we swooning over right now? We love our hand-beaded Miguel Ases earrings and our sparkly Bittersweet Designs necklaces. Ann Lightfoot's organic jewelry and Robin Haley's Moroccan-inspired stunners are also on the list. But we always come back to Suzi Roher. Based in... Full Post >

Helping in Haiti

For the second year in a row I had the good fortune to travel and spend a week in Haiti in a little village named Cite Soleil. Cite Soleil is known for its dense population and extreme poverty. I travel with a group of fellow nurses, doctors, and construction crews as well as missionary workers. We provided the community with much needed health care ranging from basic medicines, such as aspirin and vitamins, to more pressing needs such as antibiotics and first aid care for severe wounds and... Every Glass is an Adventure, A Retreat to a New Place

We can all use a retreat from this busy world we live in. From our busy schedules and endless to-do lists, to our constant desire to stay on top of things, we often forget to sit back, relax, and remember why we work so hard. There is evidence that momentary escapes and adventures can bring a sense of calm and joy, and provide a regular equilibrium to our busy lives. For me, this retreat can often be found in a glass of wine. How, you might ask, can a glass of wine provide a momentary... Full Post >
