Q&A with Holly Gordon

We were thrilled to chat with Holly Gordon, for Magaschoni, before her trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, February 14th and Sunday, February 15th. Here is what she shared with us about her favorite pieces this season!

What three words best describe your line?
“Modern,” “colorful,” and “effortless.”

What has been your inspiration this season?
The Magaschoni Spring 2015 Collection is centered around the colors and culture of Italy’s great cities. Warm neutrals inspired by the stone streets of Via del Corso create a strong foundation for the collection, while the sun bleached rooftops of the Amalfi Coast introduced luscious peaches and corals with hints of the Mediterranean. Prints developed in full bloom as colors from the olive groves and vineyards come to life in an ethereal floral and the bright coloring of our Siena rose print derived from the sunsets in Positano.

How has your collection evolved this season from last?
We added signature silk wovens to complement all of our signature knitwear. We have introduced a new superfine cashmere collection that’s perfect for warmer weather. At Magaschoni, we also expanded with active wear details across our collections to embrace our customers’ casual lifestyle.

What is your long-term vision for the brand?
The Magaschoni collection is designed by an innovative design team in New York who works relentlessly identifying the fashion trends around the world, delivering each season the latest color palettes and ideas, researching and working closely to invent new stitches and patterns. All of this to stay relevant for our customers, with the goal of providing the best quality, newest design and product.

If you could only pack one piece from your entire collection, what would you choose and why?
I would choose the feather cashmere pointelle cocoon cardigan as I’m always cold when I travel; it also is so great on a plane or cool spring weather.

Valentine’s Day is here! What Magaschoni piece makes the perfect gift?
Red all around ruffle wrap (pictured right).

We are excited to welcome Holly Gordon and Magaschoni this Valentine’s Day weekend!

Q&A with Alicia Betts

We were excited to chat with Alicia Betts, our lovely representative for SKIF, before her trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, February 7th and Sunday, February 8th. Here is what she shared with us about SKIF's collection this season! What has been your inspiration this season? There are alot of bold vivid brights in the collection this year. I believe a lover of SKIF is a woman of great style and confidence and wants to "stand out" of the crowd. She carries herself well and does not... Full Post >

International Home Builders Show

The International home builder’s show was HUGE this year – a good sign for the economic rebound!  The most common theme revolved around 3 words – kitchens and baths.  Quartz is in, stainless steel appliances are still in and faucets/fixtures come in at least 8 different finishes.  Grey is the color of choice and lighting options are incredible.  Energy efficiency still remains a big player and overall low maintenance “green” products are a must.  After 20+ miles of walking, Paige...
