Q&A with Kimberly Abell from Equestrian Designs

We’re very excited to host two trunk shows this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 19th – 21st, with Equestrian Designs and Magaschoni! We were happy to hear from Kimberly Abell, who has over 30 years experience in the fashion industry, from Equestrian Designs. Read below to learn more about this fabulous line!

What is your favorite piece from your collection and why?

The Jeniger jacket from Equestrian Designs

I have two favorites from the Fall Collection. Although Equestrian is primarily a pant line, they produce wonderful jackets as well. The Jeniger jacket is the gem I didn’t even realize I was missing! It is the perfect “throw over everything” stretch blazer. I love the way it instantly finishes an outfit.

My other favorite is actually a fabric. We have a great Chamois in the line. It is really soft, stretchy, and looks fabulous with a crisp cotton shirt or a cashmere sweater.

If you could provide one piece of fashion advice, what would it be?

Don’t get stuck in a rut! You don’t have to try every new trend but you do need to update. A new color, a new pant leg, a different haircut, a new pair of glasses. The little things can make a big difference and make you feel terrific!

Stop by Dovecote this weekend to check out Equestrian Designs and Magaschoni! We look forward to seeing you!

A Fun Idea

There are so many ways to add simple, personal touches to wedding décor, and we certainly welcome creative ideas at Fearrington. One thing that I often encourage couples to do is personalize what they call their tables in the seating plan. Of course you can never beat the good old numbering system (1, 2, 3), but how about calling them names of cities traveled together, places of significance from college, names of flowers? You name it – there’s no end to creative options. Personally, I... Full Post >
