Jodi & Carson

Jodi and Carson tied the knot on May 9, 2015. These newlyweds said their “I dos” at the Willow Oaks, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn.

How did you and your partner meet?
We met through mutual friends in high school, but didn’t start dating until the summer Jodi graduated from high school. Jodi continued her studies at Meredith College while Carson was in his sophomore year at NC State (Go Pack!). We dated for almost seven years before tying the knot at Fearrington!

Tell us about the engagement.
It was a beautiful Friday afternoon in April 2014. Carson wanted to go on a hike, but Jodi was not feeling very well that week so she said she did not want to go – little did she know she was ruining his proposal plans!! Carson improvised and said they would have a relaxed picnic lunch instead. After lunch, Jodi was dozing off on the blanket and noticed something slip onto her left ring finger. When she opened her eyes she noticed something sparkly and immediately looked at Carson. He smiled and popped the question, to which Jodi replied “yes!!”

What made Fearrington the place for you to say “I do?’
We knew that we wanted to have an elegant barn wedding with the ceremony and reception at the same venue, so of course Fearrington was number one on our list! Call us crazy, but we booked it only two days after getting engaged!

Describe the highlight moment of your wedding day.
The highlight moment of our wedding day was definitely seeing each other for the first time. We did not do a first look because we wanted the traditional reveal moment of walking down the aisle. We were both completely overcome with emotions in that moment.

Is there anything you want to add about your wedding story?
Everything was absolutely out of a dream. The flowers and decorations were gorgeous. The food and cake were delicious. Everyone had the best time dancing the night away! We are so thankful for Gilda for helping us plan and coordinate the wedding day of our dreams. We are also grateful we had the opportunity to work with such amazing vendors (Jagg Photography for capturing our day so perfectly, Joe Bunn with Bunn DJ Company for keeping the dance floor hot, NowISee Productions for filming our wedding day, and The Cottage Salon for making the ladies feel so beautiful)!

This wedding was designed and coordinated by Fearrington’s own Gilda McDaniel. Photography by Jagg Photography.
