Natalie & Brian

Natalie and Brian tied the knot on May 28, 2016. These newlyweds danced the night away in The Barn!

How did you and your partner meet?
Brian started medical school at UNC Chapel Hill in 2010. I had just graduated from Chapel Hill and was starting my first job as a nurse at UNC Healthcare. While we’d like to tell people we met in a moment of serendipity on the wards, it was actually a mutual medical school friend who set us up during the first few weeks of medical school.

Tell us about the engagement?
In the 5 years we dated, we always took a winter trip to Asheville and stayed at the same set of cabins. He planned a trip to that same cabin and proposed on top of a beautiful mountain after a long hike. To top it off, we returned to the cabin and 30+ of my friends and family were waiting for me! To say I was surprised was an understatement! He had booked all the surrounding cabins for the weekend and it became a full weekend celebration with the people I love most.

What made Fearrington the place for you to say “I do?’
Chapel hill is our place. It’s where Brian grew up, where we went to school, and where we met. The Fearrington is a Chapel Hill icon and it’s beauty and surroundings can’t be beat. We’ve been on many dates there and our families met for the first time there as well.

Describe the highlight moment of your wedding day.
It’s too hard to pick one moment! The ceremony, cocktail hour with our bluegrass band, being tossed in the air at the reception by our family and friends. The day felt like one long endless stream of endless love, laughter, and smiles!

Anything you want to add about your wedding story?
The Fearrington was a dream to work with, especially our wedding planner Gilda McDaniel. The whole team made the planning process so simple. I always felt confident that they would take care of anything that came up on the wedding day – and they did! So thankful for their wonderful customer service and talent and for playing such a big role in our dream day!

This wedding was designed and coordinated by Fearrington’s own Gilda McDaniel. Photography by Cole Gorman of Blest Studios.

Natalie & Brian have graciously offered to share their wedding video by Nowsay.
