Children’s Storytime

As the flowers bloom in the Fearrington gardens and nature puts on a fresh new face, so too has the McIntyre’s Children’s room. We’ve brightened up the shelves with new paint, moved some sections around and brought in some fabulous gift items. As always, our selection remains curated so come on in and let us help you find just the right book or gift for that special young person in your life.

We are very excited to also add to our offering of family opportunities at Fearrington by starting a weekly story time for kids every Tuesday at 10:30am. There is nothing that Miss Sarah loves more than sharing stories, silliness, and songs – just don’t expect Grammy-level singing! – with kids. Babies, toddlers and preschoolers are all welcome. Our first Tuesday story time will be on March 7th.

There is a chance she might even share some of her new favorite picture books:

The wait is over for the newest construction site book from Shelly Duskey Rinker and Tom Lichtenheld, Mighty, Mighty Construction Site. This time our favorite friends Bulldozer, Excavator and Dump Truck get up and ready to start the day and make sure the get the job done just right.

As winter turns into spring, the gently rhymes of Dormouse Dreams by Karma Wilson and Renata Liwska help awaken the young dormouse who has been fast asleep all winter whilst all his friends played. Springtime also brings a special new playmate his way. This quiet book is terrific for a lap time reading.

We’ve all heard of spring fever, right? Well everybody, wait, every-bunny, gets into the groove in Ellie Sandall’s, Everybunny Dance!! This delightful story gets the whole bunny clan moving and shaking until a clever fox show up. A slam dunk story time hit.

The risks are those few days when temperatures can plummet 40 or 50 degrees in a matter of hours, or heavy ice threatens. Naturally, then, the hardiest bloomers share a few... Full Post >
