At Dovecote, Style Defined
October 9, 2015 9:15 AM | By Dovecote Stylists | No Comments
This look was styled by Cassie.
Bohemian chic is one of the most fun styles to play with. We get to borrow from the past and put a modern twist on vintage trends. Take, for example, this luxurious fringed cardigan from Kinross Cashmere. We are obsessed with the universally flattering shade of orange and the fun of the fringe cannot be denied.
We’ve paired this statement piece with a simple Wilt tee, our new favorite leggings from Magaschoni and fantastic leather boots from Daniella Lehavi, handmade in Israel. We love the opportunity for accessories with this outfit! Even with the fringe, there’s room for fun in your scarf, your necklace, your earrings.
Cassie favors a Suzi Roher scarf with tones of orange which is subtle and beautiful. A one-of-a-kind necklace from ZoWEE is head-turning and always a great conversation piece. Keep the boho feel going with a casual canvas satchel. Anything dressier feels out of place. A great look for an afternoon spent sipping tea at an independent outdoor cafe.
Bohemian Chic Defined: Tied to the vintage phenomenon in fashion, this trend brings back vintage styles for the modern era. Boho chic combines organic, colorful, detailed, folk-inspired pieces with simple, modern pieces.

At McIntyre's Books
Fall is the perfect season to snuggle up with a new book. We have lots of new titles coming into McIntyre's every day for you to choose from!
One of my newest favorites is Sweet Caress by William Boyd. Boyd has said this is his best novel, and I believe him. Sweet Caress is the fictional story of Amory Clay, a woman photographer whose life almost blankets the 20th century.
Her accounts of taking pictures of the pre-WWII Berlin clubs, the Blackshirts marching in... Full Post >
Fearrington Weddings, Real Weddings
Jordan and Luis tied the knot on June 6, 2015. These newlyweds said their 'I dos' under the Crab Apples and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn.
How did you and your partner meet?
We met on April 4, 2008. I was a Junior at Elon and Luis was living in Chapel Hill. I had gotten back from studying in Argentina in December, so some friends thought it would be fun to go salsa dancing. We found out about this once a month "international night" at the restaurant called Spice Street,... Full Post >
Corporate Happenings, Specials and Trends
When hosting a dinner for friends, family or your co-workers, it is always nice to plan a reception beforehand. A reception gives your guests the chance to gather, mingle and relax with a drink before sitting down for your meal. Here at Fearrington we have a few reception spaces to welcome your guests prior to dinner at either the Fearrington House or Granary Restaurant.
When dining at the House a convenient space for your group to first gather is the Garden House. This space features... Full Post >
We were excited to catch up with Blair Stanley before his trunk show at Dovecote on Friday, October 9th through Sunday, October 10th. Here is what he shared with us about the collection!
What has been your inspiration this season?
I am always inspired by the fabrics that we choose. Jaquards and soft easy fabrics were of the most interest to me this season. Red, greys and blues were my favorites. Black of course is always a staple color.

We have the most beautiful featherlight cashmere turtleneck shells in the shop these days, in classic colors such as navy, black and chestnut. They pair perfectly with a simple pencil skirt, making for a great base for outerwear and accessories.
Here, we’ve thrown on a lightweight jacket from Ronen Chen and layered with a matte navy beaded necklace made in Italy from Fairchild Baldwin (though this outfit looks amazing with each color of this... Full Post >
