We were excited to catch up with Molly Hurley and Suzanne Pond, for Kinross, before her trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. Here is what she shared with us about her favorite pieces this season!
What three words best describe your line?
Quality, luxury, and lifestyle.
What has been your inspiration this season?
Clean, nautical and beachy vibe. Inspired by the natural colors of your beach with colors reminiscent of white sand, bleached shells, weathered boardwalks and clear blue skies and water. The styling has an easy and relaxed attitude, appropriate for casual and relaxed summer dressing.
In cashmere our palette is made up of soft pastels of lilac, mint and chambray balanced with light neutrals with a punch of tangerine. In our mercerized cotton tape we worked with clean summer colors of white, khaki, bright navy and black. They team up beautifully with your black or white cotton capris. A two color whimsical palm print is found in our silk and cashmere scarves and shows up again in the wearable shapes.
How has your collection evolved this season from last?
We are thrilled to offer our newest spring category – a beautiful, Mercerized tape yarn sweater knit! This is just the essence of spring casual, in a clean palette of white, khaki, navy, and a touch of black.
What is your long-term vision for the brand?
We are seeing so much growth and attention from our contemporary styles; groupings that we nicknamed “Cashmere Studio.” When you have quality like what we offer at Kinross, and you are designing pieces that will last through the ages, you want to make sure that the style of each piece is on trend without being too “trendy.” We seem to have mastered the ability to appeal to all ages. Kinross has cornered the market on the difficult task of designing fashionable apparel that is ALSO timeless! What else could we want from our cashmere?
If you could only pack one piece from your entire collection, what would you choose and why?
Definitely the 2-tone poncho in black and ivory! Why? Do I really need to say more? It is just that “go-to piece” that allows you to throw-on and go!
We hope to see you this weekend!
