Q&A with Priscilla Taylor

We were thrilled to chat with designer Priscilla Taylor, for P.Taylor Clothing, before her trunk show at Dovecote this Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th. Here is what she shared with us about her favorite pieces this season!

What has been your inspiration this season?
We were inspired by pastel colors with a shock of pink and turquoise. One of the images that inspired us the most is the vision of a sunset in Palm Springs – all of the fantastic colors that shine at the end of the day were such an inspiration for our entire spring line.

What is your favorite piece and why?
Our Classic Shirt is my favorite piece – it transcends any type of trend and works for a casual or elegant event. It can be worn like a jacket or a large oversize shirt.

How do you view your personal style?
Clothing is a canvas for my accessories collection – simple yet elegant and very easy to wear.

Do you have recommendations on styling items from your collection?
P.Taylor offers styles for any body type. Once you find that particular silhouette, you can transition from day to night with just the change of jewelry. Throw on any fantastic necklace and a pair of jeans and you are ready for any day time activity or dinner out of the town.

If you could provide one piece of fashion advice, what would it be?
I never buy trends. If you buy classic elegance, you will never go out of style.

We are excited to welcome P. Taylor this weekend as we dream of Spring!

Second Year of the Winter Coffee Pecan Porter

When the temperature drops there are a few things that become necessities: scarves, hats, mittens, wool socks and my morning cup of coffee. The way a warm cup of coffee warms me up and awakens my senses prepares me for the activities of the day. Throughout the year, Fearrington Village is enveloped in that same aroma of freshly roasted coffee. In the winter the aroma is more powerful and even more welcoming. When I sense that smell I know our coffee roaster Julian Vargas is busy at work at... Full Post >

Wine for the Wintertime

As I'm sure you've noticed, it's a tad chilly out. A little wine can do wonders in helping to pass the time, anxiously awaiting the chance sighting of a little wintry precipitation. I mean, if its going to be this cold, we better get some snow out of it! Here are three cool bottles that we have featured and on display here at The Goat to help warm the spirits this Winter. DOMAINE DANIEL ET ETIENNE DEFAIX | CHABLIS:  Ridiculously rich, full bodied, concentrated yellow melon,... Full Post >

Littorai: Above the Best, In a World of Its Own

Let's just say it, there are a lot of wineries that claim that they are the best (in their region, of all producers, of a certain grape varietal, etc). The idea of "the best" is, as I think we can all agree, largely subjective. Now, when we talk of a wine which is in and of itself completely different than anything else, I think that the classification "the best" no longer does that wine justice. How can you compare a wine so unique to others? When I speak about the wines of Ted Lemon from his... Full Post >
