All Things Native

With flower beds all tidied and plenty of rain on hand, the Fearrington Gardeners recently took a field trip up the road to visit our friends at the North Carolina Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill. A morning spent oohing and aahing over the lush plantings there – exemplified by this spectacular pitcher plant display – has only piqued our interest in the diversity and beauty of native North Carolina wildflowers. This is the perfect time of year to visit the NCBG! Check out their Facebook page for more info.

Bouquet Making with Southern Weddings

I always love starting the day in our beautiful cutting gardens (thank you Gardener Donna Mears!) and today  was even better because I got to share it with an amazing group of women. We had a casual stroll through the cutting gardens followed by a very informal lesson in bouquet design. It was so interesting to see who picked what – and although they all cut from... Full Post >
