At Dovecote, Style Defined
October 2, 2015 9:15 AM | By Dovecote Stylists | No Comments
This look was styled by Sharon.
We have the most beautiful featherlight cashmere turtleneck shells in the shop these days, in classic colors such as navy, black and chestnut. They pair perfectly with a simple pencil skirt, making for a great base for outerwear and accessories.
Here, we’ve thrown on a lightweight jacket from Ronen Chen and layered with a matte navy beaded necklace made in Italy from Fairchild Baldwin (though this outfit looks amazing with each color of this necklace!)
This look is perfect with a pointy toe pump from Emy Mack but we also love it with a knee-high boot from Daniella Lehavi. A small cell phone carrier is all you need when you’re out and about town and this little leather number from Suzi Roher does it all.
Classic Defined: Avant garde means being at the leading edge or vanguard and is applied to the most advanced, progressive and experimental fashions of the moment and prevents the industry from stagnating. Avant garde fashions that are exhibited on the catwalk are often toned down to create more wearable garments that can be sold in retail stores. Avant-garde clothes will catch the eye and make you stand out in the crowd.

Our Belties & Farm Happenings, Real Estate Happenings
While this picture may look like two people relaxing on a bench on our Creekwood Trail, if you could see an enlarged version, you would note that both Mark and I are hold planting trowels in our right hands! We planted 50 spice bushes, a native plant know to attract birds and specifically, the Wood Thrush, along the trail. The Wood Thrush is one of five birds the NC Audubon Society is currently focusing on increasing their population. Once established, the spice bush will have small red... Full Post >
In Our Gardens, Our Belties & Farm Happenings
It's no secret that as gardeners at Fearrington we take great pride in keeping our numerous and beautiful gardens immaculate and always photo-ready. Yet even we have areas at the edges of our cultivated grounds where weeds and woods make a valiant effort to encroach on our space. In the past, as many do, we have fought back with machinery, chemicals (where appropriate) and hours of labor.
This summer we decided to try something greener, gentler, and much more picturesque! Blessed with a... Full Post >
