Back to School Style

Going back to school means one thing: fall. Okay, maybe two. . . fall and cashmere. The cashmere is flooding into the shop in shades ranging from creamy almond to vibrant mulberry.

Now is your chance to snap up the double shaved wool and cashmere coat if you missed it last year; we sold out by August and have re-stocked accordingly. The perfect North Carolina cashmere coat, this piece from Kinross is ideal for our fluctuating weather as it acts as both a sweater and a coat.

Easy to layer, it looks really sharp with a prep school-inspired plaid scarf made from silk and modal from Suzi Roher, slim pants in new fall colors such as cinnamon, peat and whiskey, and a perfectly soft leather cross body bag. Shades of olive and military green are in for fall and pair beautifully with a classic navy.

We love our knit Kinross poncho with a simple moss-colored top for a touch of boho chic.

Fringe is also huge and is best when paired with timeless, well-fitting classics such as a simple pencil skirt from Donna Degnan or flattering leggings from Magaschoni.

Go back to school, or take the kids back to school, and into the upcoming season looking effortlessly chic, courtesy of Dovecote Style.

Dovecote Style: DEFINED

Generally speaking, women will favor one style category — Classic, Bohemian, Chic or Avant Garde. Classic style is defined by timelessness, simplicity and impeccable taste, with lots of neutrals while the bohemian (or boho) style employs color and an organic vintage sensibility. Chic is the perfect example of elegance and is embodied by those fashionable women who are aware of trends without necessarily following them. The avant garde fashionista never backs away from a risk. They are the... Full Post >
