Wine for “Santa”

Santa’s been working hard all year, makings his lists, checking them twice, and getting patent rights issues ironed out so his elves can make the new MacBook Air in time for Christmas.

All jokes aside, Santa’s pretty bored with the same old milk to go with his cookies. Why not spice it up and give Santa something he’ll really enjoy, wine!

Vin Santo and biscotti is a pretty neat Italian combination, or ginger cookies and a late harvest Alsatian Gewurztraminer for another original flavor fusion. Peach Linzer cookies and Hanz Eifel Eiswein would be my pick, with the layers of fruit offered by the Eiswein complementing the touches of spice in the cookie and the higher levels of acidity helping to manage the sweetness. Whether it’s for Santa or your holiday guests these sweet pairs are sure to delight!
