Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts! Each month here at Fearrington we will be featuring wines of a specific place or type throughout all three of the restaurants here in The Village. At The Goat, all of the wine that we have by the glass will be from that particular month’s focus.
For the month of August, the American wine rebellion has taken hold!
BANYAN – Gewürztraminer l $6/gls
This light-medium bodied white is very soft and appeasing, with white peach flesh and honeydew sans the sugar. Easy, no frills wine!
DR. FRANK – Grüner Veltliner l $7/gls
From the cool climate grape specialist in Finger Lakes of New York comes this awesome Grüner Veltliner that will stun even the most discerning drinker!
LIOCO – “Indica” Rosé l $8/gls
This is a rosé from the fruit of old Carignan vines grown in Mendocino County, California. How cool is that! This delightful rosé shows lovely strawberry and watermelon rind on the nose and palate, without the sweetness.
BONNY DOON – “Contra” Field Blend l $8/gls
This wine more than likely best fits the “Rebel” theme for this month, with it being a field blend of what seems like almost every strange red grape under the sun. It is wild and rustic, with an unexpected elegance towards the finish.
LA CLARINE FARM – “Piedi Grandi” l $9/gls
What a gorgeous glass of wine! Incredibly aromatic and full bodied, with mouthwatering acidity and ripeness in a combination rarely found in a red wine!
See you soon!
