April: The Wines of Southern Italy!

Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts!  Each month here at Fearrington we will be featuring the wines of a specific place, throughout all three of the restaurants here in The Village.  At The Goat, all of the wine that we have by the glass will be from that particular month’s focus.

For the month of April everything by the glass will be of Southern Italian origin!

CANTINA DEL TABURNO - Falanghina Spumante………..$8/gls

This is bubbly made using the Charmat process, think Prosecco & Moscato, with very fresh and slightly toasty aromatics!

TENUTA ADOLFO SPADA - Gallicius Falanghina………….$7/gls

Soft white grape, lemon zest, and citrus blossom adorn this beautifully structured white.  Acid, alcohol, and body all in perfect balance.

TERRADORA - Fiano di Avellino………………………………….$8/gls

Honeyed, floral, with touches of peach, citrus, and a slightly nutty quality on a longer finish.  This DOCG is an example of some of Campania’s more age worthy white wines.

VALLEVO - Montepulciano D’Abruzzo…………………………..$6/gls

The most recognizable wine from Abruzzi, this wine’s relatively smooth, easy to drink nature has contributed to it’s popularity here in the US.

PODERI FOGLIA - “I Vignali” Aglianico…………………………$8/gls

The “Nebbiolo of the south” according to some, wines made from the black Aglianico grape are surely not to be overlooked!

PAOLO PETRILLI - Agramante……………………………………$9/gls

This is some of the best Nero di Troia you will ever have….it might be the only Nero di Troia you’ll ever see, but it’s well worth a try!
