R.B. Fitch started Fitch Creations, Inc. in 1960, and began creating Fearrington Village in 1974. Fitch Creations, Inc. continues to be a family business, run by R.B. and assisted by daughter Keebe and son Greg. Located next to the college town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Fearrington is set on a farm. Fitch Creations, Inc. is focused on the Village Center and real estate.
As both Fearrington’s builder and developer, Fitch Creations, Inc.’s team, from sales to design to construction, many with more than 20 years experience with the company, bring a singular focus to customer satisfaction.
Fitch Creations, Inc. also owns and manages most of the businesses in the Village Center, including The Fearrington House Inn and Restaurant, The Spa at Fearrington, McIntyre’s Books, other restaurants including The Fearrington Granary Restaurant, The Belted Goat deli, a beer garden, boutique shops (Dovecote and Haven), and a weddings and meetings business. Regardless of the business, it’s all one family business. We’re based here too.
R.B. Fitch, Developer
R.B. and his late wife, Jenny, purchased the Fearrington dairy farm in 1974 and soon started converting the farm and surrounding land into a country village. The original farm house and outbuildings now house the shops and restaurants of the village center, while over 1,200 families have homes nestled in the surrounding woodlands and fields.
