WHAT THEY'RE
SAYING
"McIntyre’s Books is one of those bookstores that’s impossible
to leave empty-handed."
- Publisher's Weekly
"McIntyre's is a reader's paradise - tables and shelves full of
books begging someone to crack the spines...the staff tailors title
selections to readers interests. It's a welcome contrast to big-box
bookstores."
- Our State Magazine
"McIntyre's draws from a fiercely loyal clientele who consider the
store a haven of delight - a place where they can read up on
book recommendations from all five staff members and know that these
are opinions they can trust."

McIntyre's
Books is an independent bookstore with an English library setting
with a fireplace, upholstered chairs and cozy rooms perfect for
browsing. We offer a wide
selection of fiction and non-fiction, with particular emphasis on
cooking, gardening and books by local authors - a collection that
aptly reflects Fearrington itself. We also have an extensive mystery
section! Since opening in 1989, we've been hosting one of the largest
author and
poet events programs in the South.

Book Clubs
In addition to our own book clubs, Bookends and Hazel's
Book Club, McIntyre’s is
pleased to serve many local book clubs as well. Register your club
with us and we’ll be happy to give you great ideas for future book
club selections, as well as a 20% discount for your members.
Bookends is a departure from the usual
one-book-at-a-time format. Instead, we present lively and engaging
discussions focusing on pairs of novels (or short stories or poems)
that explore noteworthy literary themes from both classic and
contemporary perspectives. If you are interested in joining
Bookends, give us a call at (919) 542-3030 or drop by the shop.
