Spring has sprung at Fearrington Village! That means on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights you'll hear live music drifting through the Village coming from our beer garden Roost. What better way to spend an evening than sipping on wine or craft beer while listening to live music with friends? We kick off the season this Friday, April 4th with no other than Tommy Edwards himself. We hope to see you under the oak trees! Full Post >

Did you know we are featuring a new wine region throughout the Village Center each month? Read about what we did in March!
April, one of my favorite times to live in North Carolina, brings with it the promise of renewal and regeneration after a long winter. With its flowers and buds it brings back memories of times past while refocusing us on the freshness and excitement of the future. It is a time to explore new things, and in our opinion, to explore new things to drink. So, in honor of... Full Post >

Over the years we have tried many different ways to serve beautiful local, national and international farm house cheeses to our guests. This time I feel is our best yet! We now offer a Cheese Menu for our diners to choose from, along with a table presentation of the nine cheeses we carry (just to help the decision with a visual aid). On the menu we have two choices of each type of cheese, from blue to goat to bloomed rind, from which you can pick up to four. The cheese is then brought back to... Full Post >

We realize that many people have computer or desk related jobs these days. Did you know that this can take a toll on your body? Anyone out there with neck aches? Rounded shoulders? Pain in your wrists and forearms? Yeah, I thought so. You can have the best ergonomic workstation in the world, but our bodies need care to compensate for endless hours in a chair. Our bodies are not designed to sit for long periods of time. Our massage therapists at The Spa at Fearrington have designed a massage... Full Post >
This time of year is very busy in the wedding office with planning and getting our couples ready for their special day. Many couples often ask me; "Is ceremony music imoportant?" My answer a firm" absolutely!" There is nothing more wonderful than guests arriving to the sound of sweet music in the gardens before your nuptials, it just sets the tone for the rest of your day. Finding music for your wedding day doesn't have to be a daunting task, nor should you relegate your search to one genre or... Full Post >
In Our Gardens
So happy to see the purple, cabbage-like foliage of the emerging Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica) popping up here and there throughout the Village! These, shown, are in Jenny's Garden, and more can be seen in front of The Fearrington House Restaurant. Now we KNOW spring is here! Full Post >
The Fearrington gardeners were excited to go on their first spring plant-buying trip to our favorite source, the Big Bloomers Plant Farm in Sanford! We returned with lots of new lovelies -- rosemaries, columbines, scented geraniums and more! Can't wait to try them out in the gardens this spring! We'll keep you posted on which ones become our new favorites... Full Post >
Fearrington’s 12th Annual Folk Art Show was another huge success, an all-around delightful weekend. You never know what sort of big surprises are in store at the Folk Art Show and this year did not disappoint!
Mid-Sunday afternoon, André Leon Talley, former American editor-at-large of Vogue magazine, strolled in, all 6’6” of him! He is an amazing figure, in stature, accomplishment and good cheer, so he did not go unnoticed…and then he disappeared in our Barn!

Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate...there can never be too much chocolate! At least this is true at The Fearrington House. If you thought the classic Fearrington Chocolate Souffle was the only divine chocolate concoction made in The Fearrington House kitchen, then you are mistaken!
Representatives from Valrhona, a luxury chocolate manufacturer based in France, joined the Fearrington House staff and had some chocolate fun last month! From chocolate bars decorated with gold powder to cucumber... Full Post >

One dish I'm working on at the moment is a "double-roasted chicken noodle soup." I don't think many dishes come closer to comfort food than one with healing qualities -- maybe a grilled cheese! So, what does "double-roasted" mean? The "double-roasted" part of the soup is created when we combine a white chicken stock and equal amount of roasted chicken bones, giving the soup a beautiful color.
The underlining ingredient in this dish is the noodle, and I am going to take it and run! In the... Full Post >
