At McIntyre's Books, In Our Gardens
These trees in front of McIntyre's Books are Ilex verticillata, also known as winterberry. They - two females and a male pollinator - where planted when the bookstore was "planted" 24 years ago, and they are about as tall as you'll find anywhere. The clouds of red berries persist well into winter and often are eaten, over the course of a single day, by migrating cedar wax wings. We'll see them the next 3-6 weeks or so. Full Post >
We had a busy and beautiful holiday season at Fearrington! Even though Christmas and the holidays are a distant memory to some, we are still reflecting on what made us happy. We hosted beautiful events in the Barn and the Christmas trees lining the Barn hallway bought smiles to many faces!
I loved all the little details Maggie and Neil added to their Christmas themed wedding on December 14th. They did Christmas right! We wish you all the best Mr. and Mrs. Kern!
