We are so excited David Tanis will be here to kick off our Cooks & Books fall mini season on Thursday, October 24th at 1pm. In One Good Dish, his first non-menu cookbook, the New York Times food columnist offers 100 utterly delicious recipes that epitomize comfort food, Tanis-style. Individually or in combination, they make perfect little meals that are elemental and accessible, yet totally surprising—and there’s something to learn on every page. As a chef at Chez... Full Post >

At The Granary, Fearrington Events
The Fearrington Granary and Chef Colin served up sweet and spicy bites at the 6th Annual Abundance Foundation Pepper Festival this Sunday. Oh, what a day! The weather was beautiful, if a bit sultry for the first week of October, and the food and drink was delicious. We spent the afternoon strolling from table to table and enjoying zesty samples from some of the best local eateries, brew pubs and distilleries in the piedmont. Colin served up over 1000 tastings of Country Fried Pork with... Full Post >
Our ever talented Floral Designer Mary Stevens made the most gorgeous fall, garden bouquets for one of our brides this past weekend. Mary and her team used greenery and herbs from the gardens at Fearrington and combined it with beautiful fall flowers and fiddle head ferns. The bouquets were fun and colorful and just perfect for an early fall wedding in the Gardens. We have such an amazing floral design team -- see more of their work here!

At McIntyre's Books
Before I could finish asking Katherine what books she's excited about, she had slapped two in my hand. My hand hurts, but all the better for y'all, who can now take a peak at her picks.
Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan (a young adult title)
"This is an incredibly spiritual book -- about gender identity and how it shifts -- a compelling look at how humans connect passionately and how human wounds and self-perception can control us. In this work, the power of love redeems.... Full Post >
At The Granary, In Our Gardens
Fall brings new colors throughout Fearrington Village, whether its the warm hued leaves or fresh pops of purple! In several gardens at Fearrington, including The Fearrington Granary's patio, you'll find Aster Tartaricus; these tall flowering plants are an old Fitch family favorite. They bloom late summer into early fall and are not temperamental in the season's changing conditions. They provide a lovely color, back of the border structure and work great as cut flowers for fall gatherings! Full Post >
“F” is for Fall, Football…..Flannel! Our plaid brushed cotton Teton tunics from C.P. Shades are a perfect weight for this transitional weather -- especially when paired with our ever-popular Equestrian leggings and Dav boots. From sumptuous cashmere sweaters and scarves to lambswool throws and decorative pillows, the season has never been more colorful. And for the guys -- our lighter-weight, slimmer cut Harris Tweed jacket with a handsome wool pocket square looks more modern than ever.... Full Post >

After much success with our summer collaboration with Sean Lilly Wilson and Chris Davis of Fullsteam Brewery, last week we released the Fearrington Fall Beer at a release dinner on our Garden Terrace. We also had the release of the great art work that Win Crannell from Georgia created for the Fullsteam Fearrington Beer series label, an oak tree in each season. Thanks to Sean at Fullsteam we will be featuring the art work at the entrance of The Fearrington Granary. Each season as we... Full Post >

Real Estate Happenings
The road is done, the heavy grading machinery are gone, the banks are seeded, and we are starting our first home at Rutherford Close! The footings went in last week.
In the picture, you'll see the walking path abutting Rutherford Close that weaves through pastures, trees and park to the shops, restaurants, cafe and beer garden of Fearrington's Village Center. All just a quarter mile away!
