World’s Largest Flower Auction = Holland

I may have mentioned that I love my job. Case in point... one day Mr. R.B. Fitch says to me "Have you ever been to Holland?" Nope, I hadn't. "Well, lets think about that." Ok! And so it was planned! I was supposed to go last fall, but not-so-Superstorm Sandy put an end to that. All's well that ends well, though! With help from Fearrington's General Manager Theresa, the trip was re-scheduled and I was able to spend five days in Holland at the beginning of July. The weather was perfect... Full Post >

Construction Photos

Many of our custom home clients do not live locally, making it hard for them to schedule visits. I usually send photos each week so they can see the progress of their Fearrington home under construction. It is a great way for them to be informed and for me to answer any questions that might come up during construction. After working with clients on the house selections in the beginning, where there are so many details, it is also nice for me to see how things come together, like a puzzle... Full Post >

Staff Picks

What a tale of friendship! Told in a stark yet beautiful style this novel perfectly evokes the moldering steel towns of the Northeast as it tells the tale of two friends and the decisions they are forced to make after a terrible accident. American Rust is the latest addition to my growing list of great American novels. Buy the book Full Post >

Wine of the Week [July 29-August 4]

Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts!  Regardless of the degree to which you identify with the term, whether you like to enjoy a glass every now and then, or, like me, think an Angel loses its wings every time a wine glass is broken, we here at The Goat would like to foster your love for the drink by offering wine every week that we will showcase here in the blog, and have available for tasting on Fridays from 6~7 p.m. As if it needs more attention these days, The Golden State of sunny... Introducing Mr and Mrs…

The bride and groom’s introduction is one of the key details of the wedding reception. It gives you an idea of how the whole evening will unfold. We've seen choreographed dances, props, and even a simple wave, but recently at a Fearrington wedding we had a more unique entrance approach by the couple. They rode in on a beautiful tandem bike adorned with flowers and a basket that read newlyweds. We love our creative brides! Full Post >
